Game 162/163 Reaction Thread

Like many of the Red Sox players (hunting, contracts, getting Ken Rosenthal a good scoop, Dunkin Donuts commercials)...
the Red Sox owners (Roush Fenway Racing, Liverpool, #6, Sweet Caroline in the 8th inning)...
and the Red Sox' general manager (putting blame on Francona, the Chicago Cubs)...
I have other things that are distracting me from late-season baseball.  Like three straight days of classes.  Of course, if the Red Sox showed up in either April or September, this would not be an issue.  But they failed to do both of those things.

I'm watching.  But I can't come up with 500-1,500 words to write about it.  At least not tonight.

So this one's all yours.

Don't worry, Lester. You may have walked two guys on, but you're not playing in Fenway Park, so you can get yourself out of the jam. Getting lit up last week, that was all Fenway Park's fault. It's never your fault. It's never any Red Sox' fault.

Scutaro, to a certain extent, has always been somewhat of a clutch player. He's the closest to Scott Brosius the Red Sox have. This does go back to Pat's anti-Scutaro rant from April, 2007.

Zero bottles of champagne, zero beers, and zero "Wild Card" hats should be distributed after the game should the Red Sox not cough up this one as well. As this is something that should have been locked up before the Tampa Massacre took place, celebrating the fact that you pulled it off on the last day of the freaking season is an absolute embarrassment.

Corey Wade serving up the meatball to Dan Johnson to save the Rays season. THERE'S ONLY ONE OCTOBER...or September

Dan "The Second Coming of Ted Williams" Johnson. Just search the HYD archives for "second coming of Ted Williams."

How pissed off are the Red Sox now that they know that they can't just coast for the rest of their rain-delayed game? Best team ever.

August 8, 2005, Mychael Urban: "I have nothing but love for Johnson, but keep in mind that he yet hadn't turned into the second coming of Ted Williams when I wrote my last mailbag."

Might be my last time to do it during the middle of the eighth inning on How Youz Doin. So here goes: Warm, touching warm, reaching out, touching me, touching you!

Also, possibly for the last time ever, JD just grounded out to first base.
